 The new scheme provides the IAF an opportunity to tap and attract the best talent available in the country to serve the Indian Air Force with pride.



What is Agnipath Scheme ?

New HR methodology has been introduced in the Armed Forces named The 'AGNIPATH SCHEME'. Under this scheme, Agniveers would be choosen to serve the IAF for a period of four years. The new scheme feed a golden chance for youth of India  to experience military life without having to make a long term commitment. This period of four years of active service provides the Agniveers with the important needed time to resolve inhibitions if any, with respect to the services way of life and towards enabling them to decide upon Armed forces as a endless career option. A short period of time in the IAF will assist military training to a large section of our society and inculcate amongst them the standards of leadership, nationalism, determination, discipline, maturity, courage, fellowship, orderliness and sense of time management.

This Agnipath  schem's aim would be to enroll Agniveers from every corner of the nation by an All India competitive examination process utilizing modern technology, practices and systems, campus interviews at educational institutes and will also be resorted to select the most capable candidates.


Who can Enroll for this Scheme ?

Apart from the general population of India, the scheme consider registration of ITI students, NSQF (National Skills Qualification Framework) candidates and NCC cadets as well ensuring that the Agniveers have a better starting point and therefore, further more compatible to the technology intensive requirements of the Indian Air Force. These Agniveers would be exposed to a better improved tailor made training schedule which will enable them to  conveyance quickly and effectively in to the Air Force environment. Also, the  Agniveers who would be joining the IAF as Regular corps would needs lesser time  for settling down and specialist training for manning tech intensive gadgets. Post serving the IAF for four years, certain percentage of Agniveers would be given an  chance to re-enroll themselves into regular cadre as per their performance. The remaining Agniveers would be joining the civil life to pursue their careers in other associations , thereby continuing to contribute to the overall development of the nation.


Remuneration Package Details of Remuneration (Monthly),

 Agniveer Corpus fund and one-time Seva Nidhi package are indicated below in the table :-




  • Note 1: Agniveers will not need to contribute to any Provident  Fund of the Indian Government.

  • Note 2: There shall be no claim to gratuity and any kind of  pensionary advantage in the case of Agniveers. 

The Seva Nidhi of approx Rs. 10.04 Lakhs would aid the Agniveer to settle and start a second career to lead a decent lifestyle.
